We are a multigenerational, multi-ethnic, traditional Baptist Church that desires to build strong
disciples of Jesus Christ. This in turn helps us build strong loving ties with each other, strong
marriages and families, and a strong community to call home.
Anywhere between casual blue jeans to traditional “Sunday best”. It really depends on your comfort level. We want you to feel at ease so you can best connect during worship.
It is always good to bring a Bible to church. While we do not have an official translation used by everyone attending, you can expect the Pastor to preach from the King James Version. Our pew Bibles and responsive readings in the Hymn books are also from the King James version. We have several Bible studies led by Church lay people during the year.
We sing mostly traditional hymns and songs accompanied by the piano. We have a time of responsive reading of Scripture in the Sunday morning service. Communion is observed once a month in that service. We have an attendance of between 50 and 80 in our Sunday morning service. We offer a regular Sunday evening service and periodic choir practice during the Christmas and Easter season. Visiting speakers and missionaries may sometimes use a reliable modern translation of the Bible. We host music concerts a couple times each year and traditionally have four days of special meetings with a guest speaker in the spring. We try to have a speaker who deals with Bible apologetics in Genesis, creation and science every couple of years.
We offer a staffed nursery for most services for infants. We have a children’s church program Sunday morning for toddlers and elementary age children. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:45 am before Sunday morning worship. We have a child protection policy to vet all child and youth workers. We have midweek youth meetings for teens and elementary ages during the Spring and Fall along with our adult prayer meeting which continues regularly throughout the year. We have a week of VBS each summer, usually in July. We also host release time classes once a month during the school year conducted by Rural Bible Ministries. We have a camp scholarship program where young people can earn their way to summer camp.
We have a fellowship supper the first Wednesday of each month in place of Prayer Meeting. Also, it is quite common for us to have a February Valentines Banquet and October hayride, hotdog roast, and trunk or treat as outreach events.
We have a deacon’s fund which we use to help those in our community or church with material needs. We also at times contribute to the Weidman food pantry. We give monthly financial support to eight different missionary endeavors.
We are an independent Baptist church in fellowship with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches which is a national organization. We also are associated with The Bridge Fellowship which is a state organization for Michigan churches in the GARBC. We are also a part of Central Michigan Bridge Fellowship which is a regional group in central Michigan.
